INVESTIGATIONS
There is several different types of investigations that this department handles each year.  Different investigative units have been formed so that the different types of crimes have specially trained detectives and officers to handle them.

Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division consists of twelve Detectives who are responsible for follow-up investigations concerning Juvenile and Adult Crime.

Special Investigation Unit
S. I. U. Works closely with county and federal prosecutors, federal agents, state police, Philadelphia Police Department and county probation and parole officers, and other law enforcement partners, the Special Investigative Unit has one of their detectives assigned to the DEA Drug Task Force.

Special Victims Unit
The special victims unit investigates crimes involving child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, domestic/family violence, abuse towards special needs people, missing persons and hate crimes.
