For over 40 years the Bensalem Lions Club & Bensalem Police Department have distributed Christmas Food Baskets to the needy of Bensalem. Christmas Food Basket history tells of originally (6) six baskets being made and distributed. This year we are targeting 350 families, supplying them with food and toys for the younger children. Primarily we gather these family names through the school nurses.

Over 20 companies both here in Bensalem and surrounding townships assist us with donations. Additionally, food collections are received from schools and businesses in Bensalem (we are always looking for new donors).

Our toys are supplied by the U.S. Marines “Toys for Tots” campaign and the Bensalem Twp. Dept. of Public Safety.

Saturday, 12-19-09 from 8:30am-12:00 and 1:00pm-3:30
